In January 2022, I was one of six candidates selected to be a part of The Botchford Project, a yearly sports journalism initiative set up by the Vancouver Canucks and several sports writers in honour of Jason Botchford, a local sports journalist who passed away in April 2019.
As part of the project, I was given the chance to cover a Canucks game in-person and receive writing mentorship from writers covering the team for media outlets. I, along with two other project recipients, was provided a single game media pass for February 19th, 2022, as the Canucks took on the Anaheim Ducks at Rogers Arena, along with the chance to watch morning skate and interview a players following practice.
