Radio

Since joining Corus Entertainment, I have contributed to Global News Radio as both an anchor and reporter.

On the local side, I anchor newscasts airing on Vancouver’s 730 CKNW since early 2024. These casts include news stories, weather reports, traffic updates and other essential local content key for the Metro Vancouver region.

I also write and record stories for newscasts on CKNW. Several examples can be heard below:

Emergency Room Closures Despite B.C. Hiring U.S. Doctors (Jul. 14, 2026)
Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim Flips on Abolishing Park Board (Jul. 14, 2026)
Saanich Family Attacked by Dog (Jul. 8, 2026)
Punch McLean Obituary (May 8, 2026)

On a rotating basis, I anchor national newscasts that air on the Corus Talk radio network overnight, including stations such as Calgary’s 770 QR, Edmonton’s 880 CHED, and 640 Toronto. An example of such a cast can be heard below, with this cast being the final newscast on 980 CKNW before moving AM frequencies in February 2025.

Prior to entering the media industry, I wrote and recorded radio stories for BCIT’s journalism AM station, 1680 The Crow.

Voicer on Procession for Cst. Shaelyn Yang
Wraparound on Vancouver City Council Scrapping Single-Use Cup Fee
Wraparound on Softball Umpire Shortage

My time at the program also saw me live anchor radio news casts. It involved creating unique lineups for every cast I conducted, using what I had learned about news lineups and voiceover to present a professional, accessible newscast for the audience. I worked with fellow students working as journalists to coordinate live hits for our broadcasts to bring the latest information about their stories to the air.

Here is one of my newscasts from November 10th, 2022.

For these live broadcasts, I would often go out into the field to advance my reporting with the latest information. An example can be found here during a cast for 1680 The Crow on February 15, 2023, following my wraparound report.

Podcasting

I have worked with colleagues to create several audio projects that explore topics in a longer setting.

Audio Documentary on Cloverdale Horseshoe Club
Audio Documentary on Pickleball in Surrey

At BCIT, I hosted and produced an episode of Companion Call, a podcast that focuses on interviewing individuals from marginalized communities. The episode, hosted by me and produced by Kiara Collinge, highlighted two women working in sports media: Georgia Twiss of the female hockey podcast The Broadscast and Kaja Mae of SDPN’s Game Over: Vancouver post-game online stream.

Companion Call on Women in Sports Media (aired on November 14, 2022)

For several months in 2021 and 2022, I worked as a producer and occasional host for a hockey podcast on the Vancouver Canucks, working with Lachlan Irvine and Cody Severston, writers now working for the sports outlet The Nation Network.

The CreastCast (December 9, 2021)

In January 2023, I was able to work as an intern for Go Goat Sports, working on audio and video editing for the Sekeres and Price podcast.
